Shelter + Care

In addition to our in-house programs, CANAPI offers referrals to the Shelter + Care Program, a permanent supportive housing program operated by the Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority (AMHA). 

This program is offered exclusively to households affected by HIV, and at least one additional disabling condition, whose housing needs would otherwise go unmet.

If accepted, members of the program will receive an ongoing, income-based housing subsidy, as well as access to resources and support services based on an annual needs assessment.
